The viral sensation “Fortnite” is a battle royale game where 100 players spawn and one makes it out with the #1 Victory Royale. Epic Games has been making this game for a good 7 years being announced in 2011; my god. The game was highly popular before the following event, but Twitch streamer Ninja, who was the “best Fortnite player” and most popular streamer on the platform, played with Drake or “ThatBoyDuddus”. Oh, they also played with NFL WR Juju Smith-Schuster and Travis Scott. This BROKE the internet, and it was the most watched stream EVER by a non-company streaming channel. Just when we thought this was old news Ninja played with MARSHMELLO AND DRAKE (AGAIN!) Because of Fortnite, Ninja has currently gained the most subscribers on YouTube over 30 days (near 3.4 million subs!). Fortnite itself has 45 MILLION players, and 3 MILLION concurrent players.
The game is just getting started. Season 3 held many good memories, but somehow Season 4 is right around the corner! With the popularity, this has many children playing on PS4, Xbox One, PC, mobile, etc. So I went and interviewed students I know play Fortnite. First, yet the best: Me! Honestly, Epic Games has done a great job updating their game with a Rainbow Six eske feel with every update. The only “bad” thing about the game is the toxic players that shoot you in the back, finish you when you’re knocked down, or clean up a fight you just won. Every game. Every SINGLE game. However, with these celebrities playing this, maybe more popular game, some people have played with NFL Super Bowl champion, the destroyer of Eric Rowe, Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery, including me. Due to interviewing him in my previous article (Not Done...yet) we’ll avoid doing it again. He also wanted his name in the last one, he is… Justin Mosley. Feel free to ask him about the encounter. Remember, PUTTING YOUR FORTNITE WINS ON SNAPCHAT ISN’T COOL.

Interviewing: Ms. Logan and Mrs. Schwab On March 1st, 2018 the school started a clothing drive to benefit our Reading Olympics team known as the “Blue and the Gold Reading Racers”. We coordinated with a company called Bargain Thrift Center that sponsors clothing drives and pays organizations for all the gently used items they can collect. This was needed because we had to raise money to get the Reading Olympics team to their competition at Temple University. As the donations came in, from students, families, and the neighborhood, the items were stored in Mr. Kelly’s room. His closet was stuffed with clothes, toys, shoes, blankets, pIllows, etc. On April 5th, 2018, since it was last day of the drive, the 8th grade class 803 made many trips to take all the bags to the truck that would be transporting the goods. Some even said the bags were so heavy that they had to use a cart to push them into the elevator and downstairs. For the clothing, we earned $0.20/lb for a total of $293.40 for the 1,100 plus pounds of donations we collected. The money that was raised goes towards the Reading Olympics bus, and there will be some left over money for lunch at Wendy’s or Burger King. We wish the Reading Olympics team good luck at their competition on May 1st.😄 Reporter: Tori Marziani

Dancing Classrooms is a program where a dance teacher comes to schools around Philadelphia to teach students the basics behind a few dances. Most students in LaBrum previously learned some of the dances, because they learned it in fifth grade. This year, students were resenting the fact that they had to do it again. The 8th grade learned a total of 8 dances, twice a week, throughout the months of January through April. They learned the Merengue, the Foxtrot, the Salsa, the Rumba, the Tango, the Swing, and the Waltz. They didn’t enjoy it at first, but some students ended up liking it. On April 5th, the 8th grade had a showcase and 12 students were chosen, at the end, to go to the finals and compete against other schools in the Philadelphia School District. In the end, many are glad it’s over, but they still thought it was a fun/good experience. Reporter: Jayda Anderson
